Location: Kellogg Lake, OR

Project: Portland-Milwaukee Light Trail

Product: Pedestrian Bridge Deck

Overview: This pedestrian bridge is part of the Portland-Milwaukie Light Rail Transit Project to expand transit access and make improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities. A steel truss bridge was fully assembled with the deck and then slid into place underneath a vehicle bridge. Lightweight was important to minimize truss and installation costs. The lightweight deck enabled this long single span to be constructed with cost-effective steel tubing. The FRP deck was delivered to the truss bridge supplier, Big R Bridge in Colorado, where the deck was installed on the truss sections. The assemblies were then transported to Oregon. This bridge is 234 feet by 12.25 feet for a total area of 2,865 square feet.
